Your tenancy does not end simply because you have moved your belongings out of the property.
By your handover/vacate date, you should have completely vacated the property, completed your cleaning and other vacating obligations, removed all personal belongings and rubbish, completed and provided your Exit Condition Report (Form 14a), returned all keys, remotes, access cards and other access devices including copies made during the tenancy, and paid rent up to your applicable vacating date.
If keys, remotes or access devices are not returned, you may be responsible for reasonable costs associated with replacing them or changing locks where required.
Returning possession does not remove responsibility for outstanding tenancy obligations such as unpaid rent, water charges, tenant-caused damage or cleaning/rectification for which you are responsible.
If you do not vacate by the required handover date, further action may be taken under Queensland tenancy legislation.
