If a washing machine or dishwasher is leaking, stop using it until the cause has been identified.
- Turn the appliance off.
- If safe and accessible, turn off the water tap supplying the appliance.
- Mop up or contain the water to prevent further damage.
- Check that accessible hoses have not simply come loose.
- Take clear photos of the leak and affected area.
If the dishwasher or washing machine is supplied with the property, report the problem through the Console Tenant App. If it is your own washing machine, check your hoses and connections first. Damage or call-out costs resulting from a tenant-owned appliance or its connections may be the tenant's responsibility. For a substantial leak that cannot be contained and is causing or likely to cause property damage, follow the urgent repair procedure.
