Adding a tenant or occupant: Approval is required before a new person moves into the property. The proposed person may be required to complete an application and provide identification and supporting information.
Removing a tenant: Moving out does not automatically remove someone from the tenancy agreement or their obligations. The change must be approved and the appropriate tenancy documentation completed. Until this occurs, the outgoing tenant may remain responsible under the tenancy agreement.
Bond: If the change affects who has contributed to the bond, a Change of Bond Contributors (Form 6) may also need to be completed. The tenants are responsible for arranging any bond money transferred between the outgoing, remaining and incoming tenants.
All existing tenants must agree to the proposed change, and approval should be confirmed in writing before the change takes place.
