If you would like to keep a pet at your rental property, you must obtain approval before bringing the pet to the property.
Complete an RTA Request for Approval to Keep a Pet (Form 21) and send it to Robert James Realty. A separate Form 21 should be completed for each pet.
Under Queensland tenancy laws, the property owner/manager must respond in writing within 14 days. A request can only be refused on grounds permitted under the legislation, and reasonable conditions may be placed on an approval. If a compliant response is not provided within 14 days, the request is taken to be approved.
Body corporate or local council requirements may also apply to some properties. Tenants remain responsible for nuisance or damage caused by their pet.
Do not bring a pet onto the property while waiting for approval.
